Diet Culture - Module 2

Diet culture often influences how PCOS and infertility are addressed, with common misconceptions about necessary dietary changes and weight loss. Cutting out gluten or dairy isn't required for every individual with PCOS, and symptoms can be managed at any body size without needing to lose weight. While weight loss may happen as a result of managing symptoms, it is not the key to improvement. Similarly, the idea that the keto diet is essential is misleading; a moderate reduction in carbohydrate intake may help, but cutting carbs entirely isn’t necessary. PCOS isn’t caused by sugar, and losing weight doesn’t always lead to easier conception for women with PCOS.
